Portrait of Claire Frances Bex, Counsellor

A steady, empathetic presence.

My name is Claire Frances Bex, I am an integrative counsellor working within a person-centred approach, incorporating brief model CBT techniques where appropriate.

My aim is to build a safe, supportive connection where you feel heard, understood, and able to explore what you need at your own pace. I work collaboratively, focusing on where you would like to get to, while remaining objective and helping you explore solutions when necessary.

I believe therapy should offer a space where you can tell your story, name your feelings, and begin to process difficult experiences without fear of judgement. I am trauma-informed in my approach, as I believe understanding how trauma impacts both the mind and body can help us develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and healthier ways to self-regulate.

I work with people from all backgrounds and experiences, supporting a wide range of concerns including anxiety, low mood, depression, traumatic experiences, and feelings of disconnection, among many others. If you are unsure whether I may be the right fit for your needs, I warmly encourage you to get in touch.

Seeking support can feel intimidating, and therapy can often feel financially out of reach. Providing affordable, tailored support is important to me, as I personally understand the value of being offered compassionate guidance during difficult times. The support I once received created meaningful change in my own life, and I remain grateful for that experience.

Therapy with me is about creating a safe and compassionate space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported to make sense of your experiences.

How We Work Together

At the core of my practice is the belief that you are the expert on your own life. I provide a deeply empathetic, genuine space where you can safely explore your feelings without judgment.

Brief Model CBT

We can utilise Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques to gently examine how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected, offering practical tools to manage current difficulties.

Trauma-Informed & Somatic

Understanding the impact of trauma on the nervous system. We incorporate psychoeducation and somatic awareness to help you feel grounded and safe in your body.

Who I Help

I welcome adults, couples, young people, older adults, and trainees. While I have built a strong specialism in supporting young people in distress, my door is open to a wide range of human experiences.
